Taylor/Empire Projects Design Finalists for CDC Reshaping Rochester Awards
Each year, the Community Design Center presents a special luncheon event to honor the winners of the annual Reshaping Rochester Awards. The awards recognize exemplary regional initiatives and projects that positively impact people, neighborhoods, and the community. Established to honor the late architect Robert Macon, nominations for Award for Design recognize projects that demonstrate design excellence and contribute to enriching the public realm.
Taylor was honored to be nominated and selected as finalists for The Laurelton (Second Floor Renovation), in the Small Project Category, featuring projects with a budget under $1 million; and for The Courtyard Marriott Downtown, in the Large Project Category, featuring projects with a budget over $5 million.
The Laurelton – Second Floor Renovation was nominated and selected as a finalist for balancing modernization with original features to ensure a welcoming environment for a new 15,000 SF space developed for Rochester Clinical Research, a local leader in vaccine development.
The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Rochester was nominated and selected as a finalist for reimagining the aging East Ave Inn and Suites hotel into a modernized upscale aesthetic, designed to fit within the context of the East Ave historic district.
